With MARIPOSA, we have created a special place for the connection of art and culture, a place which enables its visitors to step out of their everyday thinking and perception, to deal spiritually and emotionally with the fundamental questions of the future of our society.

Helga Müller, Founder MARIPOSA

CULTURE PARK AND LABORATORY FOR THE FUTURE

MARIPOSA welcomes all guests who would like to retire for a while, to develop new ideas and shape the future together in a unique place. It sees itself as a laboratory for the future and a think tank where new and groundbreaking ideas can be reflected upon.

MARIPOSA was founded on the conviction that art and culture are the roots of a tolerant and cosmopolitan society. This is why MARIPOSA combines future-oriented questions with working approaches and experiences from within the areas of art, science and philosophy.

Due to its special aesthetic quality – and not least due to its geographical location on an island of “eternal spring” – the cultural park, which has been designed by more than 80 international artists* over the course of 15 years, offers its guests an environment that leads out of the daily hustle and bustle of professional life into a more attentive exchange with others and, ultimately, into a more conscious reflection on important social or personal issues.

The ambience of small, individually designed houses and comfortable yurts, embedded in the 20,000 square meter cultural park in the midst of a wonderful subtropical plant world and with a wide view across the Atlantic, inspires the imagination to new thinking and extraordinary ideas.

At the so-called Mariposien®, responsible persons from business, science, culture and politics meet here in small groups with artists* and lateral thinkers* to discuss, research, work and form networks for a limited time, so that the results of these encounters can then also be implemented at the respective institutional places of activity.

MARIPOSA also offers itself as a host for various institutions, companies and consultants who want to work on their own topics in confidential meetings, closed conferences, workshops, think tanks and incentives.

MARIPOSA cooperates with various foundations, NGOs, universities and ministries on the main topics of “Social Entrepreneurship”, “Ethical Leadership”, “Social Design” and, above all, on the topic of “Europe” across politics and culture.

80 artists have designed at least one place or work on MARIPOSA, so that visitors can move through and within the art at every turn and always discover something new. MARIPOSA offers guided tours for individual visitors and small groups in the mornings. The tour includes a coffee break in the summer kitchen.
